In 2012, Usetec will take a further step in its internationalisation when the world’s largest trade fair for used technology, which takes place annually in Cologne, begins its cooperation with Umex, the leading trade fair for used machinery on the Indian subcontinent.
The organisers of Usetec, Hess GmbH from Weingarten/Baden, and Umex, Conventions & Fairs India Pvt Ltd (CFI), signed an agreement to this end on 16 October in Mumbai. CFI will immediately support Usetec through greater visitor advertising in India. In return, Usetec’s organisers will assist Umex by marketing the event in Germany and Europe. The next Usetec will take place from 5 to 7 March 2012 in Cologne and the next „Umex in co-operation with Usetec“ in October 2012 in New Delhi.
„This partnership with the leading used machinery trade fair in one of our most important target markets reinforces the Usetec brand,“ explains Florian Hess, organiser of Usetec. „It will significantly benefit our trade fair in Germany. We want to inspire more buyers from India to visit Usetec, which offers a comprehensive range of machinery for every sector of industry and many exhibits both in the hall and the outdoor area.“ Usetec takes place annually in Germany in the spring while „Umex in co-operation with Usetec“ is held in India in the autumn at changing locations. Both events have thus clearly staked their territory: Usetec attracts visitors from over 100 countries and is close to the most important sources for procuring used machines at the heart of Europe; Umex is focused on the Indian subcontinent, which continues to enjoy strong rates of growth.
Exhibitors at Usetec meet customers from all over the world. Those participating at „Umex in co-operation with Usetec“ are able to focus more intensively on the Indian market. Usetec is the successor to Resale. Used Machinery Expo (Umex) was founded in 2007. In the past, it has been held in New Delhi and Mumbai. “Up to now, the product categories at Umex have focused on metalworking machinery. Through the co-operation with Usetec, we want to broaden the event’s scope and establish a market forum for used machinery of all kinds in India,” says Nikhil Behl, Director of CFI and organiser of Umex, looking ahead. “In Usetec, we are gaining a strong partner,” Behl continues, “which will help us to strengthen our leading position in the market still further.” Longstanding partners of Usetec also support Umex: Machinery Trade International (MTI) from England and the Italian Association of Machine Tool Dealers AIMUU.
