Hommel Maschinentechnik from Bochum, a supplier of secondhand machine tools and a partner offering comprehensive industrial services, is exhibiting at Usetec in Cologne. In its so-called Competence Centre more machines are to be seen.
Hommel Maschinentechnik from Bochum, a subsidiary of the Hommel Group, sees itself mainly as a supplier of high-quality used machines. „Of course we want to be present at Usetec“, says a spokesman of Hommel, „after all, the fair is almost on our doorstep, and this is a great advantage for our staff.“ The company headquarters is only 20 – 30 minutes drive from the fairground, and even the drive to Hommel Maschinentechnik in Bochum only takes about an hour. Here visitors can view a large and constantly changing selection of machines. Various used lathes, milling machines and grinding machines are available for demonstrations. Although the range on offer mainly comprises machines made by the Hommel Group, visitors will also find used machines from Okuma, Sunnen, Nakamura-Tome, Hwacheon, Quaser, Lico and the own brand UVA-Unverzagt, as well as machines from other manufacturers. The common denominator of all machines on offer is the guarantee of quality.
Hommel Maschinentechnik does not only set standards for used machines. The company has in its hometown Bochum set up a state-of-the-art central workshop for the inspection, preparation, overhaul and modernisation of used machines, which adjusts machines in accordance with customer wishes, and of course offers final tests and checkups as required. A third field of operations which is developing very fast is that of industrial services. Qualified staff from Hommel Maschinentechnik offer cleaning and maintenance as well as the repair of cutting and allied machines such as chip conveyors. Moreover, staff can offer such services as replacement parts and replace cooling and lubricating agents. Hommel will also change the position of machines within a factory, or can move machines to a completely different site, including transport, doing all this with their own staff.
